MICR stands for "Magnetic ink character recognition."
Bank routing and account numbers are printed with special magnetic ink
or toner, which then allows the account numbers to be rapidly and automatically
scanned by specialized decoding devices (check scanners). Check scanners capture
both the optical information (what is visible, both front and back) and the
magnetic information contained in the MICR printing. RemoteScan CheckCapture
then delivers the information from your scanners to all your software applications.
